Fusion Drive融合碟的技術蘋果在2011年已提出

根據Patentlyapple，用於新Air iMac的Fusion Drive技術，蘋果在2011年9月29日已提出技術專利。和Intel在hybrid disk上使用的SmartResponse不同。蘋果的專利技術是用在電腦使用檔案的情況，將常用檔和軟體置於SSD，其他非常用置普通硬碟上。所以系統會隨著你的使用情況，找出最適合的方式讓硬碟處理的速度變快！(蘋果網頁的描述：The new iMac introduces a breakthrough storage option called Fusion Drive, which combines a high-capacity hard drive with high-performance flash storage. 而且根據專利申請，Fusion Drive融合碟內含四大成分，一般硬碟、SSD、界面電路，和控制邏輯器。其技術可使硬碟較不受外在環境的影響．如溫度，硬碟移動等，可保護硬碟。
